Plank Resto Bar is coming soon to Oakville’s Bronte Harbour 

Oakville Plank Resto Bar new restaurant in BronteIn my travels down to visit The Shores in Bronte Harbour a while back, I saw a sign for a new restaurant that’s opening soon in Bronte… Plank.  Interesting name, so I ‘filed it away’ to find out more about it so now you know what I know…

Plank is a chef Inspired Resto Bar. Chef Gordon Goss uses traditional cooking techniques and places a strong emphasis on sourcing the finest local ingredients the region has to offer. This farm to table, nose to tail aesthetic is represented by his ever changing menus that are both adventurous and sublime, featuring items that exemplify his passion for creative, flavourful and honest dishes offered at fair and reasonable prices.

Plank Resto bar will bring some of the finest small plate chefs from across the United States and Canada to highlight the small plate, slow food movement going on in their local region.

67 Bronte Road South, Oakville, Ontario 

Lunch menu will be served daily from 11am – 3pm
Full Dinner Menu Served after 5pm
Limited Snack Menu served between 3pm – 5pm
Brunch Menu on Saturday & Sundays 9am – 3pm
 
*Plank will not be accepting reservations. There is free parking available on Bronte Road and behind the Plank Resto Bar building.

    Do not park behind the resturant. it is for residents that live above. and keep it down! Your too loud!

    My husband & I had lunch there to day—their first day in business!!- YOU GOTTA EAT THERE! The food was fantastic- all local (or near local) produce–Chef Gordon was attentive- came over to talk to us a number of times!!- Sous Chef Angie was cooking up a storm—making suggestions for us!! Pizza Chef Bruno make us the best pizza we have ever eaten—The cost is more that reasonable-it would be easy to make this as a weekly event!!

    We ate there 4 times – brought another couple on 2 occasions – food is fantastic. They do take reservations – we waited 45 minutes as they had a table for 7 set aside the entire time we waited!! They blame any mis-communication on their servers – one time you get 3 sliders & fries and the next 2 sliders and no fries!! Only the plank does 2 sliders – everyone one else is three.

    Overall I am not happy.

    Went back for our second visit- the place was jumpin!- Service was good- people are friendly, but we were not fans of everyone’s food being served on the same plate- 2 of us ordered sliders- all 4 came on one plate- same with ribs- a portion we thought was for one actually was for 2- and was all served together- when I order food I like mine served to me. Portions were really small this time- tasted great, but too small to make a dinner out of one menu item (unless you get the pizza- it has 4 slices!)

    Don’t sit at the back, you’ll get a great view of the pigsty parking lot they’ve created. Small portions, average food. Expected more.
